Entering the Womens Project. The garden consists of a 3 acre vegetable garden where the women of the community grow all the produce for their community.

The Womens' Project

This is a 3 acre garden run by a cooperative of 50 women. They grow all the vegetables for their families and local community here. Previously irrigation consisted of a bucket, a set of good legs and a strong back very time consuming at the least. So a drip irrigation system has been installed and water is now gravity fed into their garden. The women on their own initiative have now adopted various techniques from the demonstration garden appropriate for their set-up. The results have been spectacular and a surplus of vegetables is now a common problem! The next approach will be to find cash crops appropriate to their situation.
